A star shone bright in Guimaras. The friendships forged, the shoulders rubbed against and even the words lost in translation keeps the light burning until he returns. I never met Sir Dave, nor was I privileged to call him a friend, but I know this change in his plans is not a surrender. It is part of his journey, another chapter in "The Roosters Crows at 4AM".
It reminds me of 25 years ago, when my mother found me a Filipina bride. I rejected her offer and I know I made the right choice, because at that time I was immature and unprepared for life. But 15 years later when I met the right Filipina, I was ready for happiness beyond description.
Dave has planted the seeds, watered the ground and is now gone to purchase the fertilizer and soon he shall return. We will miss the wonderful stories of lizard poop as it happens, but we look forward to stories as he counts down to his return. We understand this life has hills and valleys and the best made plans of mice and men, sometimes require a delay to build a bridge when the road ends at a river.
Be Safe Sir Dave and Ms Melinda, we shall pray for you and those at the compound who hold the fort until you get back. Godspeed my friends and thank you from those who visited online and offline...
awwwwwwwww I miss Dave! Hope that he will be back soon!

Darveson, how kind of you! I really appreciate this blog post. And yes, though we might not have met, I consider you a friend. As you know by now, my wife and I have stayed in the Philippines, and I have started a new blog. Thanks again and take care (Thanks to MrsM, too!)
